Soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo is slated to meet President Donald Trump at the White House today — the same day President Trump hosts Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for a full schedule of engagements, according to two White House officials who spoke with CNN.

Ronaldo, currently playing in the Saudi Pro League, has netted 143 international goals for Portugal and is the first male player to score in five separate World Cups. Earlier this year, Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index named him the sport’s first-ever billionaire following his deal with Al Nassr.

The star forward recently told CNN that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will “definitely” be his last.
“I will be 41 years old, and I think that will be the right moment to step away from the big competition,” he said during an interview with CNN’s Becky Anderson at last week’s Tourism Summit in Riyadh.

Ronaldo also acknowledged that his legendary career is nearing its end: “Let’s be honest — when I say soon, I mean I’ll probably still be in the game for one or two more years.”

Context: The 48-team expanded World Cup — the largest ever — begins June 11, 2026, and will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The tournament draw is set for December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, an event Trump is considering attending, officials told CNN.
