Singer Hakeem Fashola, popularly known as Portable, has criticised socialite Okechukwu Pascal, aka Cubana ChiefPriest, following the latter’s comment that President Bola Tinubu would struggle to secure even 10,000 votes in the South East in 2027 if Nnamdi Kanu is not released.
ChiefPriest made the statement while reacting to the conviction and sentencing of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu by an Abuja High Court on Thursday, November 21. He insisted that Kanu remains a major influence in the South East, warning that keeping him in custody until 2027 could significantly affect Tinubu’s chances among Igbo voters.
Responding in a video shared on social media, Portable dismissed ChiefPriest’s claims. He accused the nightlife promoter of failing to raise the issue of Kanu’s release when he accompanied Davido to meet President Tinubu months earlier. Instead, Portable alleged that ChiefPriest used the opportunity to pursue personal gains and lobby for contracts.
On the claim that the South East will refuse to support Tinubu in the 2027 elections if Kanu remains incarcerated, Portable argued otherwise, insisting that voters would still throw their support behind the President once financial incentives come into play.
