Cristiano Ronaldo Wins Middle East Player of the Year at Globe Soccer Awards

Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has been crowned Middle East Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards held in Dubai.

The Portuguese superstar received the honour on Sunday night at a glamorous ceremony that attracted leading figures in world football, including top players, club owners, presidents, agents and global sports personalities.

While accepting the award, Ronaldo described the Globe Soccer Awards as one of his favourite ceremonies, saying it was always a pleasure to reunite with familiar faces from across the football world.

He added that his drive to perform at the highest level remains as strong as ever, regardless of where he plays.

“I still motivate myself to keep going. It doesn’t matter where I play — I want to score goals and continue,” Ronaldo said. “I want to win more trophies and reach a certain number, and I will get there.”

Paris Saint-Germain dominated the night, sweeping several major awards. The French champions were named Best Men’s Club, while their president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, won Best President.

PSG midfielder Vitinha claimed the Best Midfielder award, and Ousmane Dembélé was named Best Men’s Player.

“It was an exceptional year,” Dembélé said. “Winning the Champions League is extremely difficult, but we achieved it through hard work and consistency.”

Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal enjoyed a remarkable evening, winning Best Under-23 Player and Best Forward, before also receiving the Maradona Award. Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak secured LaLiga’s Best Saves award, while Raphinha was named LaLiga Best Player.

Hansi Flick was recognised as Best Manager, Luis Enrique won Best Coach, and Luis Campos received the Best Sporting Director award. Super-agent Jorge Mendes was named Best Agent, while FC Barcelona Femení clinched Best Women’s Club.

Late Liverpool forward Diogo Jota was posthumously honoured with a Special Award, which was received by his parents.
