A young woman who travelled from Lagos to Ebonyi State has been reported missing after a difficult journey that forced her to take an unscheduled detour.
Her family is appealing for public assistance to help locate her after she disappeared while en route from Lagos to Ebonyi. According to her business partner, Nsikak, the bus Chinaza initially boarded broke down along the way, forcing her to spend the night at a hotel.
The next day, Chinaza informed her family that she had boarded another bus to continue the trip, but she did not disclose the transport company she used. Sadly, that message on December 22 was the last time her family heard from her.
One week later, with no further communication, her relatives are seeking help to find her.
Sharing the story on Facebook, Nsikak expressed deep distress over Chinaza’s disappearance. She explained that Chinaza, also known as Nazzy and originally from Abakaliki in Ebonyi State, had travelled to the village for business activities and to spend the festive season with her family.
Nsikak said Chinaza boarded a night bus from Ikeja, Lagos, on Sunday, December 21. On Monday, December 22, she sent a birthday gift to Nsikak’s grandmother and left a voice note explaining that the bus had broken down in a dangerous area, but that she had managed to find a hotel for the night. That voice note, sent around 8 a.m., was the last direct communication Nsikak received from her.
Chinaza’s brother later confirmed that he spoke with her the same day, and she said she had continued the journey in another bus. However, she did not mention the transport company.
According to the family, Chinaza was expected to arrive on December 22, but all her phone numbers have since been switched off or are unreachable.
