The Federal Government has reportedly secured the release of 100 schoolchildren who were abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area, Niger State.
The development was reported on Channels Television during its Sunday Politics program, although official statements from federal or state authorities had not yet been issued at the time of reporting.
The school was attacked by suspected terrorists in the early hours of November 21, 2025, with a total of 303 pupils, students, and staff abducted.
The attackers, who arrived on motorbikes around 2:00 a.m., overran the school dormitories during a coordinated raid that lasted nearly three hours.
Approximately 50 pupils managed to escape within the first 24 hours and were reunited with their families.
