No amount, not even $1bn, would draw me into politics — Oyedepo

The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, has said he would never venture into partisan politics, stressing that even an offer of $1 billion would not change his stance.

Oyedepo made the statement during the impartation service at Shiloh 2025, the church’s annual convocation, according to Vanguard News.

He charged church members to remain committed to their divine assignments, noting that true influence and leadership come from operating within one’s God-given calling.

Recalling past warnings, the cleric said he had earlier alerted the church to impending challenges, which later materialised.

“Partisan politics is not part of my calling,” he said. “Even if you offer me $1 billion to join politics, I won’t, because it is outside my course.”

Oyedepo also spoke about the urgency of the times, describing the world as being in deep distress and in need of divine solutions.

Quoting Romans 8:19, he said the world awaits the manifestation of the children of God, adding that a new generation of believers would rise to address national challenges, much like biblical figures Joseph and Daniel.

“The army of God is about to emerge with solutions to national crises. This is the season of what eyes have not seen and ears have not heard,” he said.

His message formed part of a broader exhortation for believers to stay focused on their spiritual purpose rather than be distracted by worldly ambitions, emphasising that alignment with one’s calling enables positive impact on society.

Shiloh 2025 began on December 9 and will end on December 14 at the Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, drawing thousands of worshippers for teachings, impartation and fellowship.
