Galatasaray commentator Uğur Karakullukçu has revealed fresh details on the club’s interest in Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
Karakullukçu disclosed that the Turkish champions are increasingly turning their attention to Salah, with the club’s transfer focus reportedly shifting away from Lookman.
Both players have been linked with a move to Galatasaray. Lookman was unable to secure a transfer away from Atalanta last summer and has only recently been reintegrated into the squad, while Salah has endured a turbulent period at Liverpool and was omitted from the team that beat Inter Milan in the Champions League.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Karakullukçu said Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek is considering a bolder strategy centred on signing the Egyptian forward.
He explained that Özbek believes pursuing Salah could be more viable than committing €45 million for Lookman, whose wages would also reportedly exceed €10 million annually before taxes. According to Karakullukçu, there is a growing view within the club to target Salah instead, with hopes of securing him from Liverpool on a free transfer.
