U.S. Releases Footage of Military Strike on ISIS in Northern Nigeria (Video)

The United States Department of War has released video footage showing a U.S. Army strike targeting ISIS militants in northern Nigeria.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States had carried out what he described as a “powerful and deadly” attack against Islamic State forces operating in the region.

The footage shared by U.S. authorities shows at least one missile being launched from a naval vessel. However, in a Christmas evening post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump did not disclose specific details or the full extent of the damage caused by the operation.

Trump stated that the airstrikes were aimed at ISIS militants whom he accused of targeting and killing civilians, particularly Christians.

U.S. Africa Command later confirmed the operation in a press statement, noting that the strike was conducted in Sokoto State following directives from Trump and the Secretary of War, in coordination with Nigerian authorities. According to the command, multiple ISIS fighters were killed in the attack.
