Peace Returns to Ekpoma as Hon. Moses Edoh Salutes Governor Okpebholo’s Bold Security and Governance Response.
Your Excellency,
I write on behalf of the government and good people of Esan South East Local Government Area to sincerely appreciate you for your timely, decisive, and compassionate intervention in the recent security situation that arose in Ekpoma and Esan land at large.
Your Excellency, the recent protest by students, which regrettably degenerated into acts of vandalism, destruction of property, and public disorder, created serious tension and fear within the community. While the actions of the security agencies in restoring law and order were necessary, the subsequent arrest and remand of students further heightened public anxiety.
It was therefore a great relief and a clear demonstration of responsive leadership when you graciously ordered the release of the affected students. This singular act not only doused rising tensions but also reaffirmed your administration’s commitment to justice, fairness, and the protection of the rights and future of our youths.
Furthermore, I wish to commend Your Excellency for the strategic deployment of additional battalion security personnel to Ekpoma and Esan land in general. This proactive security measure has significantly restored calm, strengthened public confidence, and reinforced the resolve of residents to cooperate with government in maintaining peace and order.
Your Excellency’s swift response once again underscores your dedication to the safety, stability, and unity of Edo State. The people of Esan South East Local Government Area are deeply grateful for your leadership and assure you of our continued support for your administration and its people-centered policies.
