The Lagos State Police Command has invited Pastor Chris Okafor, the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, in connection with allegations of rape, sexual misconduct and other actions considered capable of breaching public peace.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP AbÃmbólá Adebisi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the cleric was formally served an invitation through his legal counsel. He is expected to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10 a.m., to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police overseeing the department.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the allegations, assuring that the inquiry will be conducted professionally, transparently and without bias.
Police authorities also disclosed that adequate security arrangements have been put in place for the alleged victims and urged individuals with relevant information or complaints to come forward. They further assured that the identities of victims and witnesses would be treated with strict confidentiality.
The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to law and order, emphasising that no one is above the law and that all allegations will be handled in line with due process, irrespective of an individual’s status or position.
