Mozambique head coach, Chiquinho Conde, has revealed the mindset his team will adopt for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16 showdown against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Conde said the Mambas will approach the encounter with humility, calmness and a strong sense of responsibility.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of Monday’s fixture, the 60-year-old acknowledged that Nigeria, coached by Eric Chelle, are the favourites to advance.
“Mozambique have shown that we are a strong team. Against Ivory Coast and Cameroon, we lost on small details, but now in the Round of 16, it is do-or-die,” Conde said.
“Nigeria are the favourites, but we must play with humility, tranquility and great responsibility.
“We have reached this stage with respect, and now we are ready to show what we are capable of.”
