In a release issued on Thursday, Chippa United said Nwabali formally requested to leave, and after reviewing the situation, the club granted his release. They also praised his professionalism, dedication, and service during his time with the team, while wishing him success in the next stage of his career.
Nwabali joined Chippa United in 2022, and his strong performances earned him a place in Nigeria’s national team, where he established himself as first-choice goalkeeper at consecutive AFCON tournaments.
He played 12 matches this season and made a total of 76 appearances for the club.
