A young man identified as Timothy Gilbert has gone into hiding after allegedly dousing his girlfriend, Angela Ogah, with a substance suspected to be acid in Edo State.
The incident reportedly occurred in Amufi, located in the Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area.
Confirming the development on Monday, November 24, 2025, the victim’s lawyer, John Izegaegbe, said Ogah has been admitted to a private hospital where she is fighting for her life.
Izegaegbe noted that a petition has already been submitted to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, urging immediate intervention.
He also appealed to security agencies to swiftly apprehend the suspect, adding, “We want the suspect arrested. The victim is in excruciating pain. She could barely speak when journalists visited her.”
