The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced plans to prosecute popular TikTok creator Ademola Abiodun, widely known as DJ Chicken, following multiple road traffic incidents that have raised serious safety concerns.
The decision comes in response to a crash on November 1, 2025, in Sagamu, where Abiodun reportedly struck two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger critically injured.
In a statement released Monday via the state government’s official X handle, witnesses alleged that Abiodun attempted to escape the scene but was apprehended by bystanders.
The ministry stated, “While victims of reckless driving may seek compensation and resolve traffic collisions as civil matters, some road users pose exceptional risks to the public and must face criminal accountability. Mr. Abiodun falls into this category.”
The statement further noted that Abiodun was involved in another accident on November 23, 2025, in Lekki, Lagos State, narrowly missing pedestrians. “This lone crash nearly caused harm, prevented only by sheer luck and the alertness of those nearby,” it added.
According to the ministry, DJ Chicken’s quick return to driving after the initial Sagamu crash—without demonstrating improved caution—necessitated government intervention to protect the public, especially in light of growing public concern.
Ogun State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has ordered officials to accelerate proceedings on the pending Sagamu case for prompt arraignment.
“The Office of the Attorney-General is working closely with the police to ensure this,” the statement confirmed.
