The troubled marriage between Senator Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife, Nollywood star Regina Daniels, has escalated following the release of medical reports and allegations of substance abuse.
In a statement issued on Saturday via his media team, Nwoko confirmed the authenticity of medical documents circulating online regarding Regina. The senator, who represents Delta North, stated that while the rehabilitation center did not release the reports, they did not deny authoring them.
According to the statement, the reports from multiple medical facilities—including Serenity Hospital and Nizamiya Hospital—show high levels of marijuana, cocaine, morphine, and opiates, as well as critically dangerous alcohol levels. One report from October details an incident in which Regina was admitted unconscious due to an overdose.
The statement further accuses her siblings of interfering with her treatment by supplying her with drugs and alcohol during rehabilitation, making recovery impossible. Nwoko’s team insists his efforts stem from genuine concern for her well-being and stability, particularly for the sake of their two young sons.
Tensions between the couple have played out publicly in recent days. Regina admitted to drug use in a social media post but accused Nwoko of weaponizing the issue to control and isolate her. She further alleged emotional manipulation, drug-enabled sexual exploitation, forced medical treatments, and the absence of a legal marriage.
“You liked me high because it made me ‘sexier’ and more submissive,” Regina claimed, accusing Nwoko of endorsing and then condemning her drug use.
Nwoko has denied these allegations, reaffirming that Regina was over 21 when they met and provided documentation to prove so, refuting online claims that she was underage at the time of their marriage.
The feud has also seen Regina’s brother, Sammy, arrested and arraigned, heightening the family’s public turmoil. Amid the scandal, Regina shared videos announcing her estranged parents’ reconciliation, triggered by the ongoing crisis.
As both sides continue to release statements and counter-statements, the situation remains volatile, with public opinion deeply divided.
