Sixteen Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) have tragically lost their lives in a road accident while travelling from Ondo State to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Gombe State.
Two other students who were part of the trip survived but are currently in critical condition at the hospital.
All the victims were graduates of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo State. They were travelling in an 18-seater bus when the accident occurred.
Emergency responders recovered the bodies and transported the injured to a nearby medical facility.
As of now, the NYSC management has not released an official statement. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
