“VDM and Mr Jollof will face the full force of the law,” says NCAA spokesperson as video of their altercation at a police station emerges

Michael Achimugu, spokesperson for the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has stated that social commentators Very Dark Man and Mr Jollof will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law following the physical altercation they engaged in aboard an aircraft at Asaba International Airport on November 17.

Sharing his reaction on his X handle, Achimugu explained:

“I had just boarded a flight and was preparing for takeoff when I was tagged in a video showing a confrontation between VDM and Mr Jollof—two social media personalities who should know better than to engage in such unacceptable behaviour, especially followed by a gloating video from one of them.

Since the aircraft was about to push back and I needed to turn off my phone, I quickly requested two key details from the poster so I could forward them to our CPOs for investigation. Upon landing at my transit airport, I discovered my comment section flooded with insults from people who believed that asking for details was inappropriate. I’ll ignore those insults for now.

Ordinarily, the airline must officially report the incident to the NCAA; once received, my department will forward the case to our legal team for advice and appropriate action.

Although I haven’t yet received that report, I want to make this clear before boarding my connecting flight:

There is zero tolerance for unruly behaviour on an aircraft. Both individuals will face the full force of the law. It is even more disappointing considering they both advocate responsible conduct to their millions of followers.

While awaiting further details—which I have requested from our staff now that I’m on ground—it remains to be seen whether the pilot offloaded the two men or allowed the flight to proceed with them onboard. If they were flown to their destination, there will be consequences.

Their actions endangered the safety of all passengers, crew members, and the aircraft itself.

The NCAA has invested significant resources in educating the public on the dangers and penalties of unruly conduct in aviation. Regardless of what triggered the fight, there is absolutely no justification for it.

Depending on how quickly information reaches me, I will release a full statement before boarding my next flight or upon arrival at my destination.”

Both VDM and Mr Jollof are currently at the Delta State Airport Police Command providing their statements.
