Nollywood Producer and Actress Eno Udo set to bury her father


The air was heavy, not just with the typical somberness of a final farewell, but with a unique, palpable sense of gratitude. As we gathered not merely to mourn the loss of late HRH DEAC Obong Ime Tom Udo, but to celebrate a life—a truly well-spent life—that touched the hearts of everyone he encountered.

late HRH DEAC Obong Ime Tom Udo passed away peacefully at the age of 82 yrs leaving behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and quiet strength. The burial ceremony, which is scheduled to take in Nung Nwen Family Compound, Nung Obong village in Akwa Ibom. between 19th and 20th, December 2025.

The Kindest of Hearts

Was born into a modest and humble family of Elder Tom Udonsek in 1942 who was a die hard member of qua iboe church.

During the Nigerian war, he joined central bank up to 1977.  While at central bank, he obtained GCE advance level in two subjects, 

I GCCEO Level 5 subject including diploma in law from London institute  bankers and short hand 100 - 120 words per minute and withdrew his appointment to work with the president common wealth Association,as personal assistant to the president, he was there until he retired home in 2004. 

He picked up an appointment as the village head of his village Nung Obong and traditional ruler of Akwa ibom state. 

From the eulogies delivered by his children, and friends described Late HRH DEAC Obong Ime Tom Udo  as one of the nicest men anyone had the pleasure of knowing.

 "Dad never sought the spotlight," his daughter, Eno Udo, recalled, her voice thick with emotion. "His greatest joy was in the small acts of kindness: fixing a neighbor's leaky tap, mentoring a junior colleague without asking for credit, or just offering a genuinely listening ear. He taught us that true wealth is measured in the quality of your relationships, not the size of your bank account."

A Quiet Pillar of the Community

late HRH DEAC Obong Ime Tom Udo was also defined by grand titles and public accolades, but by his steadfast role as a pillar of Nung Obong village,  He embodied the principle that a single individual, through consistency and character, can make a profound difference.

The following developments took place in Nung Obong during his tenure in office .

1. He applied to Mobil producing Nigeria and got 500 KVA transformer.
2. ⁠Renovation of three blocks of class room and building of new one in primary school.
3. ⁠Construction of water system,toilet and borehole in secondary school.
4. ⁠Renovation and building of two new class room blocks in secondary school
5. ⁠Building of material house for COVID 19.
6. ⁠Construction of ikot, eyo, ikot Ntung road.
7. ⁠Construction of Altra modern market.
8. ⁠A generator set for the village.
9. ⁠Acquisition of odoro, oku, iyang in the village.
10. ⁠Renovation of town hall and civic centre.
11. ⁠Deciding of borehole water at atan and town hall respectively.
12. ⁠Construction of millennium medical centre in Nung Obong.

 Late HRH DEAC Obong Ime Tom Udo's faith and character. "He lived the Golden Rule every single day. His life wasn't loud, but it was deep. Every interaction was authentic, every promise was kept. That is the definition of a life well spent."

The Enduring Harvest

As the casket was lowered, there was an audible sigh throughout the crowd, but it was not purely one of sorrow. It was a sigh of acceptance and profound respect. Late HRH DEAC Obong Ime Tom Udo' life was not cut short; it was complete, like a rich harvest gathered in its season.

While we grieve the loss of his physical presence, we are infinitely richer for the time we shared. The tears shed today are the testament to a man who showed us that the greatest ambition in life is simply to be a good human being.

late HRH DEAC Obong Ime Tom Udo will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, his children, grandchildren, and the countless friends whose lives he permanently brightened. May his quiet, powerful example continue to inspire us all.
