Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has formally withdrawn his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The announcement was made through a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed. Adeleke’s resignation was contained in a letter dated November 4 and addressed to the chairman of Ward 2 in Sagba Abogunde, Ede North LGA.

In the letter, the governor attributed his decision to the ongoing crisis within the PDP’s national leadership.

“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect. I thank the party for the opportunities it provided me to serve as senator for Osun West and as governor of Osun State,” the letter read.
