Canadian rapper Drake has lost $200,000 after backing YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul to defeat Anthony Joshua.
Paul suffered the second defeat of his professional career after being knocked out in the sixth round by the British heavyweight during their fight in Miami on Friday night.
Drake had earlier flaunted the wager on Instagram, revealing the hefty sum he staked alongside the caption: “Jakeyyyyy boy. Lock tf in.”
The Grammy-winning artist stood to win as much as £1.2 million ($1.64 million) had Paul beaten Joshua, who ultimately emerged victorious.
Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, is well known for his poor luck with sports betting. In November last year, he also lost $355,000 (£281,440) after wagering on boxing veteran Tyson, 59, to defeat Jake Paul.
