‘I’m the oldest manager, I’ve got the experience’ – Guardiola insists Man City can still win title

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reaffirmed that his side remain firmly in the Premier League title race.

The Spaniard, now the longest-serving manager in the league, said his experience and track record of winning titles from behind should not be underestimated—though he acknowledged Arsenal’s impressive strength this season.

City’s dramatic 5–4 win over Fulham on Tuesday night cut Arsenal’s lead at the top to two points. Guardiola’s men had gone 5–1 up by the 54th minute but allowed three goals in 21 minutes, setting up a tense finish.

Arsenal will face Brentford on Wednesday with the chance to restore their five-point advantage, while Chelsea could close to within a point of City by beating Leeds United.

Speaking after the win, Guardiola said:

“Arsenal are very strong and very solid. I know what is required of us. If we drop points, it becomes extremely difficult. The mindset has to be clear—it’s tough, but the Premier League season is long.

“I assure you, I’m the oldest manager in the Premier League and I have enough experience to go the distance and fight for the title. It’s a long journey.”
