Kanye West has publicly praised his wife, Bianca Censori, following her recent performance art exhibition, which has sparked widespread debate and confusion online.
The rapper took to Instagram on Tuesday, December 30, to applaud Censori after she unveiled the first phase of her provocative art series. Sharing photos from the exhibition, West, 48, simply captioned the post, “So proud of my wife.”
However, reactions in the comment section were mixed, with many social media users expressing bewilderment over the nature of the artwork.
According to AD Middle East, Censori, 30, showcased an installation titled BIO POP in Seoul, South Korea, on December 11. The exhibition featured tables, chairs, and sculptural pieces designed around the female form, with bodies contorted to resemble functional furniture. The outlet described the work as a performance of domestic rituals, transforming household objects into symbols of obedience, control, and constructed identity.
Explaining her concept on her website, the Australian architectural designer wrote: “The home molds the body, the spirit, and its roles.”
As part of the exhibition, Censori performed for about 11 minutes, wearing a red latex outfit while miming domestic activities such as baking a cake, which she wheeled toward a table surrounded by performers posed as furniture.
The exhibition has drawn criticism from some observers, with detractors describing it as unsettling. Others have gone further, labelling the performance a “coded cry for help,” especially amid ongoing rumours about West’s alleged influence over Censori’s lifestyle and fashion choices.
Citing RadarOnline.com, a source close to the show suggested that the imagery carried darker undertones. “The contorted figures and their use as domestic furniture suggest something more troubling,” the source said, adding that it appeared Censori may be expressing themes of constraint, observation, or control through her art.
Commenters responded to Kanye's post to express their confusion at the exhibition.
