Several people are feared dead following an attack by a suspected suicide bomber at a mosque in Gamboru Main Market, Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on Tuesday, December 24.
Reports indicate that the attacker detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) while Muslim worshippers were observing Maghrib prayers at about 6:00 pm.
The mosque is usually crowded, as it serves traders and customers who frequent the Gamboru market on a daily basis.
As of the time of filing this report, the Borno State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the incident.
