Nigeria vs Uganda: Head-to-Head, Team News and Match Details

Nigeria and Uganda will clash in a crucial Group C encounter at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 on Monday, with the Cranes still battling to keep their qualification hopes alive.

The Super Eagles approach the fixture as clear favourites after sealing qualification with back-to-back victories in their opening group matches. Uganda, however, are under pressure, sitting third in the group with one point from two games and needing a win to remain in contention.

Head-to-Head

This match marks only the second time Nigeria and Uganda will meet at the AFCON finals. Their lone previous encounter at this stage came in the semi-finals of the 1978 tournament, where Uganda claimed a 2–1 win.

Overall, Uganda hold a slight historical advantage, recording four wins compared to Nigeria’s two, with two draws. The Cranes are unbeaten in their last three meetings with the Super Eagles, winning twice and drawing once.

Current Form

Uganda have scored two goals at AFCON 2025 and conceded four from seven shots on target. They are winless in their last five AFCON matches.

Nigeria, by contrast, recorded victories over Tanzania and Tunisia. The Super Eagles have found the net in each of their last nine AFCON matches and are chasing a clean sweep of all three group games for the first time since 2021.
