Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, has clarified the role of his former bandmate Faze in the long-standing feud between him and Blackface.
It will be recalled that 2Face and Blackface, both former members of the defunct music group Plantashun Boiz, have been locked in a prolonged and intermittent dispute. Blackface has repeatedly accused 2Face of intellectual property theft—claims the singer has consistently denied.
Speaking to fans during his performance at the recent Made in Benue Festival in Makurdi, 2Face explained that Faze has chosen to remain neutral in the disagreement and is not involved in the conflict.
According to him, the dispute is strictly between himself and Blackface and has nothing to do with Faze.
“Plantashun Boiz was made up of Blackface, 2Face and Faze. Due to certain circumstances, Blackface is not with us right now. But regardless of whatever issues exist between me and Blackface, Faze is not part of it. He is here with me, and together we represent Plantashun Boiz,” 2Face said.
The fallout between Blackface and 2Face dates back to the early 2000s following the breakup of Plantashun Boiz. Since then, Blackface has blamed 2Face for the group’s disbandment and accused him of stealing songs.
Despite several attempts to resolve their differences over the years, the relationship between the two artists has remained tense, with reconciliation efforts repeatedly breaking down.
