The Peoples Democratic Party has announced that it will officially present the Certificate of Return to its Ekiti State governorship candidate, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
According to a statement released on Monday by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Enemobong, the ceremony will take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja at 2 p.m.
The statement noted:
“After the successful conduct of the Ekiti State gubernatorial primary election and its ratification by the Appeal Panel, the National Working Committee has scheduled the presentation of the Certificate of Return to our candidate, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, for the June 20, 2026 Ekiti governorship election.”
The party invited NEC members, PDP governors, serving and former lawmakers, members of the Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders to attend, stressing that the event reflects its efforts to strengthen unity ahead of the 2026 election.
PUNCH Online had earlier reported in November that Oluyede, a medical professional, emerged as the party’s flagbearer after winning the primary held from November 8 into the early hours of November 9, scoring 279 votes to defeat Funso Ayeni (239 votes) and Funmilayo Ogun (17 votes).
