Senate President Godswill Akpabio rushed to the hospital after reportedly been collapse .

LET US PRAY FOR THE SENATE PRESIDENT

In times of uncertainty and reports of ill health, our shared humanity must take precedence over political divisions. There have been widespread reports that the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Godswill Akpabio, is presently receiving medical care in London after allegedly collapsing.

Although this information has not been officially confirmed and there has been no public response from the Senate leadership or his family, wisdom and compassion call on us to react not with conjecture, but with prayers and goodwill.

The Holy Scriptures teach that loving only those who love us offers no moral advantage, for even unbelievers do the same (Matthew 5:46–47). As citizens and people of faith, our responsibility rises above partisan boundaries.

While many Nigerians may differ from the Senate President in political views, ideology, or principles of governance, this moment demands empathy, restraint, and sincere intercession. Illness is a sobering reminder of our common vulnerability as human beings.

I therefore humbly appeal to Nigerians across religious, ethnic, and political lines to lift the Senate President in prayer at this critical time. Our prayers should seek not only his healing and recovery, but also divine guidance in his life and leadership. Compassion must never be selective, and goodwill must never be conditional. This is how nations mature morally and spiritually—by choosing conscience over resentment.

Beyond the individual, this situation should inspire deeper national introspection. The continued dependence of public officials on foreign medical facilities highlights the urgent need to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system.

May this moment serve as a catalyst for renewed commitment to good governance, institutional accountability, and meaningful investment in local health and education infrastructure, so that no Nigerian—leader or citizen—is forced to seek dignity and care abroad.

May God, in His infinite mercy, grant healing to the Senate President, comfort to his family, and wisdom to all entrusted with leadership. May this moment become a turning point not only in one man’s life, but in our collective determination to build a nation where leadership is defined by justice, compassion, and service to the people. Amen.
