Singer Lizzo has spoken publicly after a major fat-shaming claim was dismissed in the ongoing lawsuit filed by her former dancers.

The artist responded after a judge dropped the fat-shaming allegation from the sexual harassment case brought by Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams. Lizzo has made it clear she plans to fight all remaining claims until the legal matter is fully concluded.

In a silent Instagram video posted on Monday, December 15, Lizzo addressed the ruling using on-screen text, explaining that the fat-shaming accusations were dismissed due to a lack of evidence. She stated that the court found no proof that any dancers were fired because of weight gain.

According to Lizzo, the dancers were terminated for secretly recording her without consent and later distributing the footage to former staff members. She said the allegations, which first emerged in 2023, have been deeply distressing, especially given her long-standing commitment to body positivity.

The Grammy-winning singer added that she has relied on her legal team to manage the case and views the dismissal as validation, expressing hope that the remaining claims will be resolved in the same manner.

Earlier this week, Lizzo’s attorney, Marty Singer, along with partner Melissa Y. Glass, said the dismissed claims were contradicted by sworn statements from 18 witnesses. They noted that the strength of this evidence ultimately led the former dancers to drop their appeal regarding the fat-shaming allegations.
