A dramatic scene unfolded in a Baku supermarket when two people dressed as Santa Claus got into a heated altercation, leaving shoppers stunned.
The pair—both styled after the traditional Russian Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) with long white beards—were wearing different costumes: one in classic red, the other in white. Their argument quickly escalated near the fruits and vegetables aisle, with pushing and shoving that sent produce and even a small Christmas tree flying.
Witnesses said the clash stemmed from a dispute over who had the right to entertain children in the area. A security guard’s attempt to break up the scuffle failed when the red-clad Santa shoved him aside. One of the Santas even fell but got back up to continue fighting.
Eventually, two larger security officers intervened and managed to separate them. According to local sources, no one was seriously hurt. An eyewitness compared the confrontation to a “mafia-style turf war.”
Police later questioned both Santas over the public disturbance.
A video of the incident was captured by shocked shoppers.
