“US lawmaker Riley Moore says airstrikes in Nigeria halted planned Christmas attacks.”

A United States lawmaker, Riley Moore, has said that recent US military airstrikes in Nigeria prevented terrorists from carrying out attacks during the Christmas period.

Moore made the claim in a post on his X account on Saturday, noting that while Christians in Nigeria had been killed during the previous two Christmas seasons, this year saw a direct military response against extremist groups.

According to him, coordinated strikes carried out with the Nigerian government targeted Islamic State militants, helping to avert planned attacks.

“For the past two Christmases, Christians have been murdered in Nigeria. This year, thanks to @POTUS, radical Islamic terrorists were met with 12 Tomahawk missiles instead,” Moore wrote.

He added that the successful strikes against ISIS marked an initial step toward restoring security in the country and ending the killing of Christians.

Moore’s comments followed a statement by US President Donald Trump, who on Thursday disclosed that American forces had launched deadly strikes against Islamic State fighters in northwestern Nigeria. Trump warned that further attacks would follow if militants continued targeting Christians.

The president made the remarks on his Truth Social platform, saying the Department of War carried out multiple precise strikes against the terrorists.
