Two brothers have lost their lives in a fatal road accident at Obegu-Aba, Ozibo, in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
An eyewitness, identified as Mr. Uchenna, said the victims were riding a motorcycle when a Toyota Corolla with Ebonyi State government registration number EBONYI 241-EBGH, allegedly travelling at high speed, struck them.
The impact destroyed the motorcycle beyond repair, and the two brothers died at the scene.
According to the eyewitness, the driver of the vehicle reportedly abandoned the car and fled immediately after the accident.
He added that police officers from the Ebonyi State Police Command arrived shortly afterward, evacuated the bodies, and took the impounded vehicle to their station for further investigation.
