After several weeks of testing, WhatsApp is now officially introducing a new profile tab for iOS users.
Easier way to identify your active account
Previously, the Settings tab located at the bottom-right corner has been replaced with a new section called “You.” This tab opens an updated profile page and uses your profile picture as its icon instead of the traditional gear symbol.
According to the latest App Store update (version 16.5.10.73), this new tab allows users to manage their account, control their identity, and personalize their profile more easily.
The change is also a step toward multi-account support, a feature Meta has been working on. By displaying the user’s profile photo more prominently, it becomes easier to quickly see which account is currently active—similar to how apps like Instagram and Threads handle multiple accounts.
While the feature is now rolling out, availability is still limited. Some users may also see a refreshed profile layout with a default cover photo at the top, although customization of this cover image is not yet possible.
As with many WhatsApp updates, it may take time before all users receive these changes.
