Iranian Intelligence Chief Killed in U.S.-Israel Strike

Iran’s top intelligence official, Majid Khademi, has been killed in a joint strike carried out by the United States and Israel, according to confirmations from both sides.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Khademi died in an early morning attack on April 6, ahead of official statements from Washington and Tel Aviv.

Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, described Khademi as a key figure involved in operations against Israeli civilians and one of the most senior members of the IRGC.

The development follows heightened tensions, after U.S. President Donald Trump issued a warning to Iran, giving a deadline to reach a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while threatening severe consequences.

In response, Iranian officials signaled a strong retaliation, warning that any further attacks—especially on civilian targets—would trigger a much broader and more destructive response.

A spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters cautioned that future military actions could escalate significantly if hostilities continue.

Despite the rising tensions, Trump indicated there remains a possibility of a diplomatic agreement, suggesting a ceasefire could still be negotiated, while also reiterating his readiness to take further military action if talks fail.

Legal experts have since raised concerns that targeting civilian infrastructure, as suggested in some of the threats, could violate international law.
