Terrorists have stormed St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution located in Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, kidnapping several students and staff. The exact number of victims has not yet been determined.
A source who confirmed the attack to Daily Trust on Friday said the school was still compiling and verifying its records.
“Yes, the incident happened, but I cannot provide further details at the moment. The church will release an official statement later today,” the source said.
Attempts by DAILY POST to contact the Niger State Police Command were unsuccessful as of the time this report was filed. The command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, did not respond to calls.
This latest attack comes just days after terrorists targeted a government-owned school in Kebbi State, where at least 25 students were abducted.
