Lagos shifts start date for Lekki–Ajah road rehabilitation

The Lagos State Government has announced the postponement of the planned rehabilitation of the Lekki–Ajah corridor, which was initially slated to begin on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The update was issued on Tuesday, November 18, by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi.

According to the statement, the government has deferred the commencement of the project to a new date that will be revealed later. Osiyemi noted that although preliminary preparations will continue through the end of the month, full-scale rehabilitation will not begin until a revised schedule is released.

He added: “The Lagos State Government wishes to inform the public that the planned rehabilitation works on the Lekki–Ajah corridor have been postponed to a later date. A new commencement date will be communicated in due course.

“The State Government appreciates the understanding and patience of all road users as it remains committed to improving road infrastructure and ensuring safer, more efficient transportation for everyone.”
