The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State has cautioned Senator Dino Melaye against presenting himself as a member of the party.
The warning was issued on Friday in Lokoja by the state ADC Public Relations Officer, Tayo John, who stated that Melaye has no affiliation with the party in the state.
John accused Melaye of repeatedly interfering in the party’s affairs and persistently attacking its leadership.
He emphasized that the party’s state executive remains independent, insisting there is no merger with what he described as “marauders” like Melaye who falsely claim membership in the ADC.
“Let me state unequivocally that Dino Melaye is not a member of ADC in Kogi State. He is not recognized in his ward as a member of our party,” John declared.
“Therefore, he has no identity within the ADC and cannot speak on behalf of our party in Kogi State.”
The spokesman further described Melaye as a social media entertainer whose aim is to create content and generate noise online.
He added that Melaye is not a legitimate member of the ADC but an impostor whose actions are inconsistent with the party’s values, and therefore has no influence over its leadership structure.
