BREAKING : Twitch Places Four-Month Suspension on Carter Efe’s Account

Popular Nigerian comedian Carter Efe has had his Twitch account temporarily suspended, just days after hosting a record-breaking livestream with Afrobeats superstar Davido.

The livestream, held on December 17, 2025, attracted massive online attention and helped Carter Efe emerge as Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer, amassing over 405,000 followers on the platform.

On Monday, the comedian revealed that Twitch had imposed a four-month suspension on his account for alleged violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. However, the platform did not disclose specific details about the infractions.

The suspension comes shortly after Carter Efe surpassed other Nigerian content creators, including Shank Comics, and hosted one of Twitch’s most-watched livestreams featuring Davido.

Following the announcement, fans and supporters took to his social media pages to express solidarity, praising him as a “joy giver” and calling on Twitch to reconsider its decision.

Although online speculation suggests the suspension may be linked to mass reporting over comments or behavior during the livestream, claims of additional bans on other platforms have been debunked.

The development has left many fans disappointed, especially as it coincides with the festive season, with calls growing for the issue to be resolved swiftly.
