Rapper Cardi B has spoken out against what she described as “mean” reactions from some fans regarding her relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs, urging critics to show more understanding as she navigates motherhood, her personal life and preparations for her upcoming tour.
In a candid video shared on social media on Monday night, the award-winning artiste expressed frustration over the constant online scrutiny surrounding her relationship. She noted that she cannot change the past and is focused on moving forward, adding that repeated judgment takes an emotional toll.
Although she addressed the issue with her usual mix of humour and blunt honesty, Cardi B ended the message on a positive note. She encouraged fans to support her tour, enjoy her music and choose love over negativity, while wishing her supporters happiness and success.
Cardi B and Diggs, who plays for the New England Patriots, welcomed a baby boy in November after confirming their relationship publicly in May.
The rapper is also a mother of three children from her marriage to estranged husband Offset, while Diggs has three daughters from previous relationships.
