The Federal Government has facilitated the rescue of 100 pupils kidnapped from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Agwara LGA of Niger State.
Channels Television reported the development on Sunday, December 7, 2025, although an official government statement is yet to be released.
Armed attackers had invaded the school on November 21, 2025, abducting 303 pupils, students, and staff. Around 50 pupils escaped within the first 24 hours and were reunited with their families.
With the latest release of 100 children, a total of 153 pupils and 12 teachers remain in captivity.
