Scott McTominay, now shining at Napoli, has been crowned Serie A Player of the Year.
The Scotland international received the honour at Monday night’s Gran Gala del Calcio awards, adding to a successful spell that includes helping Napoli secure the Scudetto in both 2023 and 2025.
“Joining Napoli was an easy decision—I came to the right place,” he said while accepting the award, as reported by The Sun. McTominay played a key role in last season’s title win, scoring 13 goals and registering six assists in all competitions under Antonio Conte.
His impressive performances at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium earned him the league’s MVP award for the 2024–25 campaign.
The midfielder now joins an elite roll of past winners such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrea Pirlo, Kaka, and Zinedine Zidane.
The 28-year-old, who made 255 appearances and scored 29 goals for Manchester United, was also named in the Serie A Team of the Season.
Others recognised include Manchester City’s Tijani Reijnders and Inter Milan duo Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco.
