Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has opened up about moments when he has felt like walking away from football following the painful loss of his parents.
Speaking with ACL Sports, the Chippa United shot-stopper revealed that he lost his mother just two months after the death of his father, a double tragedy that deeply affected him.
According to Nwabali, the emotional burden of the losses has been overwhelming, forcing him to struggle privately while trying to remain strong and move forward.
He admitted that the grief nearly pushed him to consider quitting the sport altogether, stressing how close he was to his mother and how difficult it remains to speak about her passing.
Describing the experience as extremely painful, Nwabali said the loss of both parents has been one of the toughest challenges of his life, one that continues to weigh heavily on him.
