Popular TikTok influencer Peller has finally spoken out following his arrest and detention by the Lagos State Police Command over allegations of reckless driving and a suspected suicide attempt.
In a video that has since gone viral, Peller expressed deep regret over the incident and pleaded with Nigerians for forgiveness. He said, “I’m sorry, Nigerians. Please forgive me. I will never repeat such actions again. I’m truly sorry. I’m currently undergoing medical treatment, and once I’m done, I’ll return online.”
The incident is believed to be linked to his recent breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis. Jarvis had earlier announced the end of their relationship, stating that Peller’s struggles with emotional regulation influenced her decision to leave.
Confirming the arrest, the Lagos State Police Command stated that Peller’s conduct was considered a deliberate act of self-harm and posed a serious risk to other road users. According to police reports, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, when Peller was allegedly livestreaming himself driving recklessly, which reportedly led to a major accident on the Lekki–Epe Expressway in Lagos.
The police further disclosed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, adding that Peller will be charged in court once investigations are completed.
Reacting to the situation, the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, cautioned social media influencers and content creators against promoting or displaying dangerous behavior online, stressing that such actions will be met with strict legal consequences.
