Mr. Hassan Husseini, an outrider attached to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has lost his life in a fatal road accident.
Husseini died on Sunday, December 21, 2025, while travelling from Lagos to Ibadan ahead of the arrival of the Senate President. Reports indicate that he was killed after a vehicle collided with his motorcycle.
A native of Kogi State, Husseini was scheduled to retire from service in February 2026, just two months after his death.
Raising a motion on the Senate floor in Abuja on Tuesday, the Senator representing Kogi West, Sunday Karimi, disclosed that the deceased is survived by his wife and four children.
“A reckless driver ran into him. He was married and had four children,” Karimi told his colleagues.
Earlier, before the motion was formally presented, Senate President Akpabio had informed lawmakers of Husseini’s passing and revealed that he was laid to rest on Tuesday morning.
Akpabio also recommended that two of the late outrider’s children be offered employment in government agencies, noting that if vacancies were unavailable, they could be accommodated within his private establishments.
