Wizkid says Asake will perform at his wedding

 

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Ayodeji Balogun, known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants fellow musician Asake to perform at his wedding.

He made the statement during their joint appearance on Apple Music Radio with DJ Tunez.

Wizkid explained that Asake’s hit “Omo Ope” instantly made him a fan, but “Remember” remains his favourite track — and the song he wants Asake to perform on his wedding day.

He praised Asake as one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and globally, calling him a major blessing to African music.

“Omo Ope made me an Asake fan from the very first listen. But my favourite is ‘Remember’ — you have to play that at my wedding. It’s an incredible record,” Wizkid said.

“You have one of the most unique voices from Africa and the world. I’ve told you many times and I’ll say it again: you’re a blessing to African music.”

Wizkid is currently in a relationship with his manager and the mother of his children, Jada P. The couple share three kids together.

The Starboy singer has been hinting about his wedding for several years.
