Franky Venegas, one half of the viral rap duo Island Boys, has been arrested once more in Florida over alleged drug-related offences and is currently in custody, according to a report by TMZ.
Law enforcement officials said Venegas was booked into the Collier County Jail in Naples on Wednesday night on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was photographed for a new mugshot following the arrest.
Authorities disclosed that Venegas was denied bond and placed on a 24-hour hold because he is already out on bond from a separate arrest in February. That earlier case involved allegations of delivering, possessing, or selling a firearm with an altered serial number.
According to the sheriff’s report from the February incident, deputies pulled over a yellow Corvette after it allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. Officers reportedly found a bag containing suspected oxycodone on the passenger-side floor. Venegas denied ownership and claimed he had a prescription but was unable to provide evidence.
Police also said they discovered a brown MGM handbag containing a handgun sprayed blue and missing a serial number, along with a cut straw and credit cards bearing Venegas’ name. Another straw with a white powdery substance was allegedly found in the vehicle’s centre console.
Venegas gained widespread attention in 2021 alongside his twin brother, Alex, after their song “I’m an Island Boy” went viral on social media.
He has previously been arrested on several occasions, including for domestic battery, reckless driving, and driving without a valid licence.
