Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has named three teammates he believes will play key roles in producing goals and assists for Nigeria as the team enters the knockout phase of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Nigeria secured qualification to the Round of 16 after finishing top of Group C with a flawless nine points, sealing their place with a 3–1 win over Uganda on Tuesday. The Super Eagles are set to take on Mozambique in the last-16 encounter on Monday.
Speaking after the victory over Uganda, Osimhen highlighted Ademola Lookman, Paul Onuachu and Akor Adams as players capable of making decisive contributions in the knockout rounds.
“I’m not making any promises about scoring more goals in the Round of 16,” Osimhen told reporters.
“What I can guarantee is giving my best, fighting for the team, and doing everything possible to ensure the Super Eagles win.
“We have Paul, Akor and Ade [Ademola Lookman] who can step up for us with goals and assists,” he added.
