Tottenham Turns Down Kanye West Concert Over Antisemitism Concerns

Tottenham Hotspur has rejected a request from Kanye West to perform at its London stadium, citing concerns over his past antisemitic remarks.

The rapper had planned to stage concerts at the venue to promote his new album, but the club declined, emphasizing its strong ties to the Jewish community and the need to protect its supporters.

Sources at Tottenham noted that hosting an artist associated with offensive comments about Jews would be unacceptable and contradict the club’s values and heritage.

Following the rejection, West secured a slot at the Wireless Festival, where he has been announced as the headline act for all three days of the event scheduled for July 10–12 at Finsbury Park. The decision has since sparked backlash, with some sponsors reportedly withdrawing support.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also criticized the booking, condemning antisemitism and stressing the importance of ensuring safety and respect for Jewish communities.

West has faced repeated controversy in recent years over antisemitic statements and actions. However, in late 2025, he met with Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto and issued an apology, acknowledging his behavior and attributing some of his actions to struggles with bipolar disorder.

He later published another apology in The Wall Street Journal, expressing regret and insisting he does not hold antisemitic beliefs.
